New UK Customs Declaration System

The UK government has developed a new customs platform known as the Customs Declaration System (CDS). This will replace the existing platform, Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF). The new system will be linked to your organisation’s Government Gateway account, allowing you to see various aspects of your import and export process for example, pending VAT amounts and outstanding deferment amounts.

When processing your customs declarations, our clearance agents will be asking for a different set of data than previously. Please note all CPC’s (Customs Procedure Codes) will change, and some commodity codes will require additional information, this is driven by the new data requirements associated with CDS. Clearance documents, as usual, will be provided via our agents or carriers.

For full details of the new Customs Declaration System (CDS) please visit our Freight Resources page >

Customs Brokerage can be arranged to facilitate the customs clearance process.

Export documentation including Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin and EUR1 can also be provided.

Warehousing

Facilities for accepting container loads from overseas can also be arranged with unloading and storage, whether it be short or long term, all part of the service.
