Wood Carving travels from Sheffield to its origins in Italy

A private client in Sheffield, wanted to ship a piece of artwork (that had belonged to the family for many years) over to relatives in Italy. International Freight Solutions had the privilege of managing this delicate shipping request.

Ortisei Wood Carving travels from Sheffield, UK to it's origins in Val Gardena, Italy

The hand carved wooden statue originally came from Ortisei in Val Gardena which is in the Italian part of the Southern Tirol. Ortisei is located in Dolomites Val Gardena, South Tyrol. Ortisei became famous thanks to its artfully decorated and carved wooden sculptures, which have been prepared by the deft hands of woodcarver families for generations now.

The fragile piece of work needed to be carefully handled and packed appropriately by IFS for the 1000 plus mile journey back to Italy. After a successful 5 day transit, the little wooden man arrived safely back home!
