Shipping Dangerous / Hazardous Goods

As you are probably aware there are shipping regulations for Dangerous Goods and the Shipper is legally responsible for compliance.

“Carrying goods by road or rail involves the risk of traffic accidents. If the goods are dangerous, there is also the risk of incidents, such as spillage, leading to hazards such as fire, explosion, chemical burn or environmental damage.” Source: HSE Health & Safety Executive >

Shipping Dangerous GoodsDangerous goods, (often called hazardous materials in the USA), may be pure chemicals, mixtures of substances, manufactured products or articles which can pose an unreasonable risk to people, animals or the environment if not properly handled in use or in transport. Identifying dangerous goods is the first step to reduce the risks posed by the product with proper packaging, communication, handling, and stowage.

To ensure safe handling it is essential that dangerous goods are accurately declared. It is important for Dangerous Goods Notes (DGN’s) to be completed correctly. In the road and maritime environment issues are particularly common, where the information is provided to the carrier either by the DGN, the dangerous goods consignment note, or transport documentation. Our dedicated Dangerous Goods specialists have the experience and can offer you the most reliable and secure methods of dangerous and hazardous goods transport.
