Research from international payments platform, WorldFirst, has revealed that more than 1.5 million of the UK’s small businesses are now involved in worldwide trading. Their estimates suggest the combined value of UK exporting now stands at £78 billion every month, with Western Europe remaining the most significant trading partner.
London was home to the highest percentage of exporters, followed by the East Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber. The UK’s top sectors for international trade were in medical and health, manufacturing, transportation and distribution.
