Just when you think you have seen it all, another unusual freight-forwarding request drops into your inbox. Yes, this makes quite a unique case study, which was very successful despite a change in destination mid shipping transit from China…

Case Study:
Hyperbaric & Cryotherapy Resources, Sheffield
Service provided by IFS:
Sea Freight – Multi-destinations
Original Destination: France
Final Destination: Dubai
Collection:
China
Consignment:
EQUINE MILD HYPERBARIC CHAMBER PACKED IN 2 CASES – total weight 6850kg, classed as ‘Out Of Gauge’ and shipped on a 20ft Flat Rack container.
Transit Time:
Shipped out of Qingdao, China, destined for Avilly – ST Leonard in France.
However, the Royal Endurance Team of Bahrain for whom the chamber was destined for, changed the plans midway through the sailing and wanted the goods re-directing to Dubai. So once the goods arrived in Le Havre, France, we had to re-arrange with French Customs for the container to be shipped out again on a different vessel to Dubai. All ended well with the chamber eventually being delivered as requested and on schedule.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves the use of a chamber in which a horse can breathe in 100% oxygen at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure. This increased pressure allows more oxygen to be dissolved into the horse’s bloodstream, which can have a range of therapeutic benefits including; wound healing, infection control, reducing inflammation, improving brain function and enhancing athletic performance.
